Microsoft (after bowing to considerable pressure) have sent me a
'hotfix' (read band-aid) that gives MS-proxy the same
credentials-forwarding that squid uses for proxy-auth when the proxy has
no credentials of it's own.
I've had the local education department give it an initial test, and it
works. It's a DLL and a registry entry. I'm told the installation
instructions aren't for distribution so I'll have to read them and type
up a new set.
Planning to place it all on a web-page and let people on squid-users
know where to get it. Does that suit folks here?
